Terms for the Parla website and authorized beta.
Prelaunch scope
Effective August 11, 2026. These terms govern the Parla website and any authorized beta provided by Assertion Labs LLC. A public store release, paid plan, trial, or broad geographic availability is not offered by this website.
Eligibility and product boundaries
The current beta is intended for adults. Parla is an AI language-practice tool, not a human, accredited course, professional adviser, therapist, romantic companion, or emergency service.
Acceptable use
Do not use Parla to violate law, exploit or harass others, create sexual content involving minors, facilitate harm, evade safety controls, compromise the service, scrape it without authorization, or submit material you have no right to use.
Accounts and your content
You are responsible for your account access and for the content you submit. Do not share account links or credentials, and notify support if you believe an account has been compromised.
You retain rights you have in submitted content and grant Assertion Labs and its service providers a limited license to process it only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve Parla as described in the Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the right to submit that content.
AI output
AI responses and corrections can be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate. Verify important translations and high-stakes information with an authoritative source or qualified person. No learning outcome or fluency is guaranteed.
No public billing
No subscription, trial, price, or paid entitlement is represented as live. Any future purchase terms will be shown by the relevant store before purchase and reflected here only after verification.
Privacy and deletion
The Parla Privacy Policy describes data processing and available choices. The in-app account-deletion control and website request forms are separate from any future app-store subscription controls.
Availability and termination
Parla is a beta and may change, pause, or stop. Assertion Labs may suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, providers, the service, or legal compliance. You may stop using Parla and delete your account at any time.
Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parla is provided as is and as available without warranties of accuracy, uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or learning outcomes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Assertion Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from Parla. Rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise, disputes must be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York. Before filing, contact hello@assertionlabs.com so the parties can try to resolve the issue informally.
