What is Parla?
Parla is an AI-powered language-practice beta built around text conversation, gentle corrections, and useful continuity.
What is Companion Studio?
Companion Studio is a forthcoming private operator workspace for shaping persona behavior, running isolated test conversations and evaluations, and managing versioned releases. It is not currently a public service.
Is my companion a real person?
No. Every Parla profile is a fictional adult AI language-learning persona. Profile details are character design—not claims about a human—and generated replies can be wrong.
Which languages are represented in the companion catalog?
Parla offers Spanish, French, Italian, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Arabic, Hindi, Russian, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, English, Persian, and Kannada profiles in the current companion catalog.
Does Parla offer voice calls?
No. The inspected release is text-first and does not implement real-time voice calls.
What does Parla remember?
When relationship memory is enabled, context is scoped by user, companion, relationship, persona version, thread, and generation. A complete user-facing memory-management interface remains unfinished.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Settings → Privacy controls → Delete my Parla data removes the account and associated application data. Cleanup requests sent to service providers may take additional time.
Does Parla require a subscription?
No public subscription or in-app purchase implementation was found in the inspected release.
Is Parla a romantic companion?
No. Parla is designed for language practice and excludes romantic, sexual, manipulative, and dependency-building behavior.
